Our Bundle of Joy

It's been a long while since I've logged into my blog.

Good news to share.

Our new bundle of joy arrived on 24th of Sept 2012.

Things has been moving fast, too fast i felt. From being married to now being a mother all within a year, I'm still trying to embrace myself for all these changes.

 

All i can say now is motherhood is not easy.

 

There was no dramarama like waterbag burst in the middle of the night or contraction pain while shopping outside as baby decided that my womb was too comfortable for him to come out to see the world. By 40 weeks, he still not coming out yet so we decide to go for induction as he was getting a little big for natural birth as well.

 

So on the 23rd of Sept 12am, we check ourselves in to Mt A for induction. No dilation, no contraction, no nothing. My boy was really very comfy inside.

 

12.30am - 7am Pill inserted and wait for any sign of contraction. Nothing at all and i slept till morning. Another pill inserted at 7am. Finally there's some sign of contraction and it was really painful.

 

9am - 1030am Doc Wee came and did a VE. Finally a mere 2.5cm dilation. The nurse came to clear my bowels and strapped to CTG again. Contraction was mild and i slept throughout the noon.

 

3.40pm CTG done again. This time contraction was 5mins apart but still mild. Preparing to move to the labour ward. 

 

5.30pm Admitted to the labour ward. Doc Wee came, did a VE again and burst my waterbag. Put on drip and the waiting game continue. Contraction getting more and more intense.

 

9pm Can't stand the pain and ask for epidural. The anaesthetist arrived quite promptly and i was being injected a few times as she can't find a good spot along my spine for the injection -_-

The effect was almost immediate. I only feel a numbness from bottom down and kept shivering.

Guess what I can even watched Formula 1 on channel 5.

Took a nap and hope that things can speed up abit.

 

12am 6cm dilation. Sob

 

3.30am 8cm dilation. Have used up about 3 dose of epidural already.

 

530am Doc Wee came and I'm still 8cm dilated and my worst fear came as baby head was not low enough for me to have a natural birth. Suggested for emergency c-sect as baby's head was abit swollen and may get worst if i insisted on waiting.

 

6am Pushed into the operating theater. Gosh i was shivering from the effect of epidural and fear. Can only hope baby can come out safely. During the operation, i literally can feel the tugging and pulling and yes!!! Baby is out finally.

 

I was like happy and relief and the tears started flowing down. I'm just glad that baby is healthy =)

 

My labor itself was a whopping 30hrs, well it's worthwhile to go through all the pain when i finally get to see my baby. You can imagine the joy and relief i have when the nurse put him by my side.

 

Recovery was not as bad as i thought it might be but taking care of a new born was such a big challenge. Ayden cries every 3hr for milk and i need to pump out breast milk every 3-4hrs as well thus there's no chance of being able to sleep through the night. Lack of sleep plus frustration lead me to breakdown a few time during these 3 weeks of confinement.

 

Well, It's a brand new journey and I'm still learning.

It's been awhile.

Finally after a year of planning, our wedding was over on the 1st of Jan 2012.

Everything went smoothly on that fun and i'm glad for all the help that me and Mr Ang have gotten from all the brothers, sisters, friends and families for this wonderful event.

It was a blast and we had great fun. Hopefully i will find more time to update in more details.

Day 4 - Taipei

Day 4
We started our day late after a tiring long day of photoshoot the day before.

We tried the Ding Tai Feng in Taipei for our lunch after hearing much good reviews about them as compared to the one in Sin. Seriously i think the quality of food is about the same. Hmm maybe because i'm never a big fan of them.

After lunch, it's shopping time. Headed over to Wufenpu but it was quite disappointing. The things there are not really as cheap as i thought it might be unless you are buying in bulks. It was a very big area but things seems to be about the same after walking for awhile.

We walked over to Raohe Night Market which is just across the street. Too full to eat anything so we left after awhile.

Took a bus and head downtown to Taipei 101. Didn't spend much time there as we didn't want to go up the observatory tower and the branded goods there are slightly pricier than Sin after the conversion rate.

Eventually we went back to Ximending where i finally brought something!!! 6pairs of shoes hehe. Cheap and pretty =)

Day 2 of Taipei

Day 2

Wake up for breakkie @ the hotel then proceed back to the room and continue our sleep hehe.
Headed out during noon to the studio to choose the gowns for our photoshoot the next day.

Went to try the famous ru lou fan just behind the bridal studio for our late lunch. Was super famished by the time we done which was around 4plus.

Was told to rest early for the photoshoot tomorrow so we headed over to the zhong zhen memorial hall to take a look before heading back to our hotel area to explore around and rest early for the night.
Didn't do much for this day actually.

We arrived in the evening and checked in to our hotel.
Mr Ang managed to find this hotel from tripadvisor (Always the best place to get recommendation for hotels, never fails us before).

The room was better than we expected and they have the best bathroom of all the hotels we had once stayed before. Jacuzzi with tv/music. Best way to relax =)

Headed to XMD to have dinner and walked around. It was quite a distance and the weather was pretty humid. We also tried the famous Ah Zhong Mee Sua before heading back to hotel.
Took their train and it only takes less than 10 mins for us to reached our train station. -_-

Excited for my gowns selection the next day =)

Makeup

My new buy this week.

Cle De Peau concealer and cream foundation.

Heard rave reviews on their products and decided to give it a try.
Prices are actually on the high side but when you signed up as a member you are entitled to 3 free facials by them. Quite worth it i felt.

Gonna try their facial next week. Let's see how it goes =p

Galaxy Tab 10.1

Finally managed to collect my parcel.
It was supposed to be a surprise anniversay pressie for Mr Ang but not sure what causes the delay the parcel only reached Sin on the 6th of August instead of 25th July.
Somemore it was detained by ICA as we need to pay gst -_-
Thankfully, it was not lost in the mail.

Mr Ang is still an android supporter as compared to Apple. At least now he got his own tablet, i can have my ipad2 back =p

Lots of things to update!!!

Me and Mr Ang just came back from our Taiwan trip in July. A pre-wedding plus birthday holiday for us. We did our pre-wedding shoot with Bluebay at Taipei. It was a wonderful experience. Will blog about it soon once i got the photos transfer to my lappie.

Oh ya and we collected our wedding bands from Ling jewellery yesterday.
I'm loving it so much.

Plus i'm sooo getting the gold bangle from Ling Jewellery for my dowry.
Gold price please don't keep raising!!!

Yes!! So now there's two items off the wedding checklist =)

2nd fitting

Had my 2nd fitting appointment with Amanda Lee Wedding on Wed.

Tried on a few more white gowns and Miah, my designer came up with a few designs for me to choose this time.

Choosing the prefect gown is such a tedious process.
Fickle-minded me just seems to love everything. From toga to sweet-heart tube, embroidery to ribbon, tulle to taffeta, they all look so pretty...

Miah strongly recommend me to go for tulle style and his 2 designs are in tulle.
After much hestitation, i decided to stick to the design of that white gown that draw me to Amanda Lee wedding in the first place.

Though i love tulle as it gives a very dreamy and princessy style but i keep thinking it will makes me look even fatter because of it's puffiness.

Seriously i'm really afraid that i might made the wrong decision.
Well, we shall see. *cross fingers*

For the evening gown, i thought it might be the hardest part as i got no design in mind.
Tried on 2 different style of evening gowns and i'm totally loving the design Miah came up.
Just hope that the colors i chose look good on me.

Gonna take my measurement in 2 weeks time. Omg now i really need to slim down.

SK11 Facial Spa

Trying to update as much as i can.
Signed up with Sk11 facial spa last week too for their bridal package.

Went down for the first trial last week and have a very good facial done by their therapists.
I took up their bridal package which in my opinion was quite worth the price.

Looking forward to more facial session and say bye bye to bad skin =p

Bringing Mr Ang along for the next appointment =)

Ramblings

My designer has not reply to my email for more than a week.
and he promised to send me a rough sketch of the gowns one month ago but till
now i have not received anything from him.

I think i need to call him tomorrow to go for the 2nd fitting.

Am i too anxious? Hmm but my 2nd photoshoot is at end of Sept and i have not
started on designing my gowns yet??

I think I'm turning into a bridezilla soon.
